OUR IMPACT

Delivering the UK’s first-ever green shipping corridor

NatPower Marine’s fully integrated smart Energy Transition-as-a-Service (ETaaS) is already set to establish the first-ever ‘green shipping corridor’ between the UK and Ireland to dramatically cut emissions.

As the first part of NatPower Marine’s £3 billion global network of 120 clean ports by 2030, in collaboration with Peel Ports Group, we will be delivering the UK’s first commercial electric ship (e-ship) charging network to support electric propulsion and cold ironing.

Why working with NatPower Marine generates impact

We support Shipping Lines and Ports and Terminals. Discover our tailored offerings for your industry via the below.

Using our strong financial backing to de-risk the maritime energy transition for Ports and Terminals

We are taking a radically different approach to address the challenge of shipping decarbonisation, by providing Port Authorities and Terminal Operators with the investment and technology to cater to electric ships of the future, without the risk.

We can create and manage future-proof charging and cold ironing infrastructure – all at our investment and risk. NatPower Marine acts as your partner throughout the entire process – from proposals, financing a location development plan, to applying together for government funding, where available.

We can operate existing cold ironing infrastructure, offering the opportunity to buy out or lease your existing cold ironing infrastructure, we can release equity for you to invest in your core activities. We can manage and operate your existing infrastructure and bring it to the next level.

We guarantee the long-term efficiency and profitability of ports and terminals by giving hybrid vessel operators and special cargo operations (such as trade EV charging) access to shore power, onshore and at anchorage. We help ports and terminals meet the evolving decarbonisation requirement of new and existing customers, and the industry, all while reducing noise and air pollution in local communities.

We are driving £3 billion of capital globally by 2030 to help 120 ports and 50 shipping lines transition their operations.

The maritime industry’s transition requires significant capital and a new business model. We have the expertise to deliver the infrastructure, generate and trade clean electricity, and offer competitive pricing to fleet operators to future-proof Ports and Terminals globally.

We understand the scale of the challenge facing Port Authorities and Terminal Operators. As a global industry, it requires a global solution. That’s why we bring a global perspective to every challenge, using our worldwide network of energy assets and locally based teams to plot a worldwide course to clean, integrated operations.

How long will decarbonisation in shipping take?

Net zero shipping is already here, with government’s targets and penalties for emissions. 2025, 2030 and 2040 are the key dates to decarbonise. Shipping lines can go electric right now in the most critical part of their routes, creating a sustainable fleet in just a a few years.

To support this rapid transition, we are building a global network of charging infrastructure for shipping lines and cargo owners at scale and pace, £3 billion in investments across 120 locatons worldwide. We chose the locations in partnership with the shipping lines and forward looking.

No one knows your business better than you, which is why we’re inviting you to tell us where you need clean energy infrastructure the most, helping ensure we deploy the right infrastructure, in the right place, at the right time.
