ABOUT US

We are NatPower Marine

As an independent energy transition enabler for the maritime sector, NatPower Marine is committed to significantly reducing emissions both onshore and at sea.

Join us in driving sustainable innovation and transforming the future of marine transportation.

OUR SPECIALISM

We are a team of clean energy and maritime specialists

Leveraging our specialist knowledge, unique insights and a host of renewable energy assets across the world, we provide shipping lines, ports and terminals, and cargo owners with access to clean and cost-effective energy, helping them transform their business operations for the better.

Responsible for 3.3% of global carbon dioxide (CO2), 15% of nitrous oxides (NOx) and 13% of sulphur oxides (SOx) emissions, the marine industry must undergo a mass transformation. By 2040, the maritime industry will consume up to 4 PWh of clean energy annually – equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of the USA.

NatPower Marine is leading the maritime energy revolution – it is our ambition to invest over £3 billion of capital globally by 2030, helping 120 ports and 50 shipping lines to transition their operations.

We are dedicated to building a global network of intelligent and clean energy infrastructure for cold ironing and electric propulsion, NatPower Marine is driving the industry’s shift toward sustainability.

Our innovative solutions enable ships to operate with clean electrical power for propulsion and cold ironing, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition to low-carbon operations. With a dedication to smart, digitalized, and synchronised energy systems, we are empowering the maritime sector to embrace a greener and cheaper future, while being compliant with regulations.

WHAT WE OFFER

Powering shipping on clean energy

The maritime industry has a significant emissions profile, emitting equivalent CO2 to major economies like Germany. In cities that host ports, between 30-35% of SOx, NOx and PMx emissions are generated by ships.

Decarbonising the maritime industry requires a mass transformation, requiring every ship, port and cargo owner to plot a course to a cleaner future.

We deliver and operate the charging infrastructure to provide intelligent electric fuel to vessels, in the most relevant locations. As a global partner, we use our unique data-led insights to understand the needs of our customers and provide them with the right infrastructure, in the right place, at the right time.

NatPower Marine provides the critical ingredients for a successful transformation of the maritime industry:

  • Charging infrastructure for propulsion and cold ironing
  • Clean energy, generated or stored from our energy plants, or traded from our sources
  • Insights, systems and processes
  • Upfront capital to deliver infrastructure
  • Support to migrate fleets toward electrification

We use our strong financial backing to remove the critical barriers to progress – the upfront infrastructure investment and service risk adoption. We take this on, so our customers don’t have to.

Strong foundations

We are part of the NatPower Group, a well-capitalised global energy provider and developer. Determined to accelerate the global maritime industry’s energy transition, we provide clean energy infrastructure onshore, at anchorage and offshore.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Plotting a course

The world our customers inhabit is changing – it’s a global problem requiring a global, integrated solution. At NatPower Marine, we act as a strategic partner to our customers, helping connect the dots and guide them to a sustainable future by providing support across their global operations.

Cleaner shipping

We are passionate about a cleaner future for the maritime sector. NatPower Marine is working to better enable the industry to drastically cut CO2, NOx and SOx emissions, ensuring regulatory compliance, improved air quality in port-side communities, and providing support to the implementation of sustainable supply chains. We help fleets migration providing the other half of the coin, a global charging network.

Together

Despite their interdependency, each port, ship operator and cargo owner is on its own transition pathway and adopting solutions ‘in the blind’. But success cannot be achieved in isolation. That’s why NatPower Marine is creating a global network of forward-thinking businesses, to act together to drive the maritime energy transition forward.
